BitGo Eyes IPO in Late 2025 as Assets Under Custody Surpass $100 Billion
BitGo Considers Public Listing Amid Record Growth
BitGo, a leading crypto custody provider, is reportedly considering an initial public offering (IPO) in the second half of 2025, driven by a significant surge in assets under custody and heightened institutional confidence in the digital asset space.
- The firm’s rapid expansion reflects growing global adoption of cryptocurrencies and improving regulatory clarity.
Asset Surge: $60 Billion to $100 Billion in Six Months
According to BitGo’s Asia-Pacific managing director, Abel Seow, the company’s assets under custody (AUC) soared from $60 billion to $100 billion in the first half of 2025—a 67% increase.
- This dramatic growth is attributed to both rising crypto adoption worldwide and increased regulatory certainty.
- About half of BitGo’s holdings are in staking, where clients earn yield by helping validate blockchain transactions.
Institutional Services and Strategic Partnerships
Founded in 2013, BitGo now offers custody, trading, lending, and borrowing services to major institutional clients.
- The company’s 2023 Series C round raised $100 million at a $1.75 billion valuation, backed by prominent investors such as Valor Equity Partners, DRW Holdings, Redpoint Ventures, and Goldman Sachs.
- BitGo has also expanded internationally, with Hana Financial Group and SK Telecom acquiring shares in BitGo Korea, and new operations launched in Dubai.
Recent Moves: Strengthening Institutional Trust
BitGo has made several strategic moves in recent months to further cement its position in the market:
- On June 19, KuCoin integrated with BitGo Singapore’s Go Network to enhance off-exchange settlement, part of KuCoin’s $2 billion Trust Project.
- The company facilitated a $250 million XRP acquisition for VivoPower and expanded support for the XRP ecosystem, including staking for Flare and Songbird.
- BitGo is also developing custody and settlement tools on the Hedera network for institutional decentralized finance and has partnered with HTX to offer secure, insured off-exchange trading for large clients.
IPO Outlook: Riding the Wave of Crypto Regulation and Institutional Interest
BitGo’s potential IPO would mark a major milestone for the firm and position it alongside a growing number of crypto companies seeking public listings amid increasing mainstream and regulatory acceptance.
- The return of President Donald Trump and the appointment of pro-crypto regulators in the U.S. has further encouraged digital asset firms to explore IPO opportunities.
