Amul has joined the online banter about Netflix’s recently released Korean drama Squid Game, which is currently taking over the world. Known for creating creative doodles, the Indian dairy brand has taken advantage of the opportunity to create yet another amazing artwork with its unique twist.
The now-viral doodle depicts a scene from the K-drama where the main character, Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-Jae), is seen holding a Dalgona candy while being surrounded by guards. By substituting the candy (now famous) with a buttered toast, Amul added a buttery twist to the scene. They called it ‘Game of Debt ‘, the Indian dairy brand surely managed to strike a chord with the Netflix fans.

Amazon Chairman and CEO Jeff Bezos also decided to praise Netflix co-CEOs Reed Hastings and Ted Sarandos in a note about Squid Game, which was popularized online. Having created a buzz in every corner of the globe in no time, the hit show features 456 contestants playing games for a hefty prize amount.
.@ReedHastings and Ted Sarandos and the team at @Netflix get it right so often. Their internationalization strategy isn’t easy, and they’re making it work. Impressive and inspiring. (And I can’t wait to watch the show.) https://t.co/yFw7TGyc1U

In no time, the dystopian Korean drama released on Netflix in September has become a top show in India as well, and its soaring popularity has spawned many memes. Despite being quite different from other popular K-dramas, Netflix has won over audiences with its gripping narrative and mind-blowing storyline.
Netflix’s Squid Game starring Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, Jung Ho-yeon and many other popular Korean artists has apparently entered the race for an Emmy nomination in 2022.
