Pune Palkhi Yatra 2025: Complete Traffic Diversion Plan for Pimpri-Chinchwad from June 17–20
To facilitate the smooth journey of the Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi processions during the annual Ashadhi Wari, the Pune District Collector’s Office has issued detailed traffic regulation plans. These restrictions aim to ensure public safety and efficient movement of Warkaris between June 17 and June 20, 2025.
Key Traffic Diversions and Restrictions
June 17 (12:00 PM) to June 19 (12:00 AM):
- Multiple roads in Dehu, Alandi, Pune City, and rural areas will be closed or rerouted.
- Heavy and light vehicles will be barred from specific stretches.
- Signage and traffic police will guide commuters.
June 18–19:
- Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi: Moves from Dehu to Pune.
- Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi: Moves from Alandi to Pune.
- Full vehicle restriction on these routes during their movement.
June 19 (12:01 AM) to June 20 (10:00 PM):
- Traffic controls extend to rural areas en route to Pandharpur.
- Affected regions include Dive Ghat, Saswad, Jejuri, Phaltan, and Malshiras.
Safety and Crowd Control Measures
- Barricades, direction boards, and volunteer patrols to assist Warkaris.
- Parking restrictions, blocked entry points, and emergency standby enforced.
- Unauthorized hoardings and obstructions to be immediately cleared.
- Overgrown or dangerous trees along routes will be pruned.
Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi: Route & Orders
Schedule:
- June 19: Departure and rest in Alandi.
- June 20: Procession heads toward Pune.
Route:
- Alandi → Nagar Parishad Chowk → Yogiraj Chowk → Dehu Phata → Chanholi Phata → Alankapuram → Thorlya Paduka → Magazine Chowk → Vitthal Rukmini Chowk → Dighi → Bopkhel → Vishrantwadi.
Heavy Vehicle Bans (June 17, 12:00 PM to June 19, 12:00 AM):
- Entry prohibited from Chakan, Chimbali, Shel Pimpalgaon, Vadgaon Ghenand, and Markal.
Alternate Routes:
- Via Alandi Phata/Chimbali Phata → Bharatmata Chowk → Panjarpol → Alankapuram.
Other Closures:
- Bharatmata to Alandi, Moshi to Alandi, Vishrantwadi to Alandi via Dighi.
Vehicle Entry Restrictions into Alandi:
- Restricted from points like Holi Phata, Kelgaon Chowk, Dhanori Phata, Vishrantwadi, etc.
One-Way Routes:
- Havaldar Vasti to Tale Patil Chowk and Bharatmata to Moshi operate as one-way.
Complete Ban (June 20, 12:01 AM onward):
- No entry from Pune, Bhosari, Chakan, Chimbali toward Alandi.
- Heavy vehicles from Tulapur restricted from entering via Markal.

- South/North of Tale Patil Chowk, near Dnyanvilas College, Bopdev Chowk, Indrayani Hospital, and Muktai Mangal Karyalaya.

Schedule:
- June 18: Departure from Dehu; rest at Akurdi Vitthal Mandir.
- June 20: Departure to Pune.
Route:
- Dehu Inamdar Wada → Anagadshah Baba Dargah → Chincholi Paduka → Dehu Kaman → Bhakti Shakti → Akurdi → Shivaji Chowk → Mahavir Chowk → Morwadi → Pimpri → Pallav Nagar → Nashik Phata → Fugewadi → Dapodi → Harris Bridge.
Heavy Vehicle Bans:
- Old Mumbai-Pune Highway: June 16, 12:00 PM onward.
- Talegaon-Chakan Road: June 18, 9:00 PM onward.
Alternate Routes:
- Triveni Nagar → Talwade → Ganeshnagar → KNB Chowk → Khandelwal Chowk → Dehu.
Legal Enforcement
The orders fall under Sections 115, 116(1)(B), 116(4), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, making compliance legally binding.
