Axiscades and MBDA to Establish Advanced Defence Facility in Bengaluru
The Indo-European partnership will build a missile systems engineering hub at Karnataka’s Aerospace Park.
Strategic Defence Collaboration Announced at Paris Air Show
In a major boost to India’s defence manufacturing landscape, Bengaluru-based Axiscades has announced a strategic agreement with European missile systems leader MBDA to set up a high-tech defence facility in Karnataka.
- The agreement was signed through Axiscades Aerospace and Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Axiscades.
- The announcement was made during the Paris Air Show 2025 in France.
Location and Capabilities of the New Facility
The new unit will be developed at Aerospace Park, located near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, a growing hub for aerospace innovation.
- The facility will include test bench laboratories, missile launcher infrastructure, and specialized equipment.
- It will be staffed with technically trained personnel to support MBDA’s advanced systems engineering operations.
Strengthening India’s Defence Ecosystem
This partnership marks a significant development in the Indian government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, positioning Bengaluru as a key contributor to the global defence supply chain.
- MBDA, known for its cutting-edge missile systems, will leverage Axiscades’ engineering capabilities to localize support operations.
- This aligns with India’s broader push for defence technology transfer and domestic manufacturing capacity building.

In May, Axiscades CEO and MD Alfonso Martinez outlined the company’s aggressive growth strategy:
“As we approach FY26, our priority is to capitalise on the opportunities in emerging sectors like manufacturing, MRO, chip-to-product and advanced defence technologies, including unmanned warfare, to bring about non-linear, product-led, scalable growth.”
