CBSE To Conduct Class 12 Board Exams At July End
As per reports, the CBSE board will be conducting the class 12 board exams from July 15 to August 26.
However, the board will be holding a review meeting to review the feasibility of conducting the exams, after which, the exact date sheet for the exam will be released on June 1.
The exams will be conducted offline. Additionally, the result will be declared in September. However, the final decision regarding all this will be declared on June 1.
As per reports, the exams will not be held conventionally. The suggestions by CBSE are that the exams can be held only for a few subjects or having them for 1.5 hours duration instead of the regular duration of 3 hours.
A meeting was held yesterday, attended by high-profile ministers and state education secretaries, where the preference was more towards the second option. However, some of the ministers have asked for a fusion of both options.
Class 12 Board Exams To Be Conducted In Two Phases?
Exam pattern will be changed if Plan B is accepted. If the exam is held for only 1.5 hours the students will have to answer only MCQ questions in order to finish the exam in the given time.
As per a source close to the development, “The exams will be of 90 minutes duration instead of three hours and will be conducted in same schools where students are enrolled. The questions will be objective and very short answer type. Students will have to appear in one language and three elective subjects.”
For this option, the tentative schedule is that between July 15 to August 1, the first phase will be conducted. The second phase will be held from August 8 to August 26. Exams will also be conducted on Sundays as well.
Under plan B, CBSE had also suggested that students can be given an option of appearing for the exams later. This means that if an exam is missed due to an issue related to COVID, they can appear for the board exams after about 15 days.
All the final decisions will be known to us on June 1. Also, social distancing and other norms will be followed while conducting exams.
