Amazon Launches New Fire TVs with AI Assistant Alexa+ Built-In

From scene-searching to live sports stats, Alexa+ brings AI-powered conversational experiences to Fire TV’s latest lineup—including new smart TVs and a budget 4K streaming stick.

Alexa+ Brings AI Conversations to the Living Room

At its fall hardware event, Amazon unveiled Alexa+, the next evolution of its AI voice assistant, now coming to its Fire TV ecosystem. Alexa+ enhances the entertainment experience with more advanced, context-aware voice interactions.

  • You can now ask Alexa+ for hyper-specific movie and TV recommendations, such as:
    • “What’s something like the show I binged last weekend?”
    • “Find a movie starring [your favorite actor].”
  • While watching content, ask questions like:
    • “Where was this scene filmed?”
    • “Where do I know that actor from?”
    • “What’s the name of this song?”

The AI can even retrieve behind-the-scenes trivia, soundtrack details, and curated scene highlights across thousands of titles.

Sports Just Got Smarter

Live sports integration is getting a boost with Alexa+, which now supports natural-language queries for:

  • Live scores and real-time stats from your favorite teams
  • Player bios and performance data
  • Discovery of live games across apps like Prime Video, Sling TV, DirecTV, and Fubo

You can even ask Alexa+ to summarize previous games, highlight top plays, or direct you to upcoming matches.

Scene Search with Natural Voice

One of the most notable features: Alexa+ can now help you jump to a specific moment in a movie or show.

  • Just say something like “Show me the car chase scene” or “Go to the part where they meet in the café.”
  • Initially works with thousands of Prime Video titles, with more platforms on the roadmap.

This represents a major upgrade in voice-driven navigation, replacing vague scrubbing or clunky fast-forwarding.
