Apple TV+ announces ‘The New Look’ Thriller about Christian Dior.

The new Apple TV+ thriller series traces how Christian Dior became the world’s most influential fashion designer during the Second World War and Nazi occupation of Paris.

Apple Studios will make the new series in Paris with Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche. The New Look is written by Todd A. Kessler, known for “Damages” and “The Sopranos.” Kessler will also direct and executive produce.

In a press release, Apple describes ‘The New Look’ as a ‘live-action, World War II-era thriller’ centered on the pivotal moment in the twentieth century when Paris re-awakened the world through its fashion icon, Christian Dior (played by Mendelsohn), whose creations dominated the world’s fashion in the decade following World War II.

“The interwoven saga will include Dior’s contemporaries and rivals,” Apple continues, “including Coco Chanel (portrayed by Juliette Binoche), Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, and Yves Saint Laurent.”

Production and streaming dates have not yet been announced.
