The Record To Sing 186 Songs In A Year

Bappi Lahiri, the ultimate disco king of India, Known for Bollywood disco songs, he has always been a popular singer-musician. Interestingly, after R. D. Burman, Bappi Da’s songs have been recreated in Bollywood.

As he is affectionately known, Bappi Da has sung songs for Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek, Dev and Sunil Anand, Dharmendra and his sons Sunny Deol Sunil Dutt and his son Sanjay Dutt. He now wants to sing for Karan Deol after Dharmendra and Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol has even requested his services, he recently told IANS.

Bappi Da also prepared to release a book titled We Are One World: Peace, Love, and Harmony in 2018. Apparently, the Golden Man has composed a jingle to welcome boxing legend Mike Tyson to India.

For recording over 180 songs for 33 films in 1986, Bappi Lahiri holds the Guinness Book of World Records. In fact, after R. D. Burman, all Bollywood hit songs are recreated from Bappi Lahiri’s compositions. In 2012, the composer had also won GIMA award for Ooh La La from Dirty Picture.
