With HYBE’s expansion into India and BTS’s global return, all signs point to a long-awaited concert on Indian soil.
BTS Is Back—and So Are World Tour Rumours
After nearly three years of hiatus due to military service, BTS is officially making a comeback in 2026. During a Weverse livestream in July, the K-pop sensation announced plans for a new album and a global tour, sparking excitement across the worldwide ARMY—especially in India.
The septet, consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, is reportedly preparing for an eight-month world tour starting May 2026, potentially covering 65 shows across continents.
Will BTS Come to India?
There’s no official confirmation yet, but multiple signs strongly suggest that India may finally be on BTS’s tour map:
- HYBE India Launched: In September 2025, HYBE Corporation launched HYBE India, headquartered in Mumbai. This strategic move hints at long-term engagement with Indian fans and the entertainment market.
- Cancelled 2020 Plans: BTS had previously planned to perform in India in 2020 during their “Map of the Soul” tour. The plan was shelved due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their past interest in India adds weight to current speculations.
- Growing Indian Fanbase: BTS has seen an explosive rise in popularity in India, with social media trends, streaming numbers, and fan activities reflecting a massive demand for a live show.
Given these factors, a concert in India would be both strategically smart and culturally impactful.
What the Analysts Say
According to Finance News and Hyundai Motor Securities researcher Kim Hyun Young, BTS’s upcoming tour is expected to:
- Run from May to December 2026
- Include around 65 shows
- Attract over 4 million fans globally
- Contribute significantly to HYBE’s projected profits, crossing 100 billion KRW in operating earnings
The tour will likely start in North America, followed by Asia and Europe, increasing the chances of India being included during the Asia leg.
BTS’s Current Focus: New Music and LA Sessions
Since the tour announcement:
- The members travelled to Los Angeles, collaborating with international producers for their new album.
- They recently returned to South Korea but may resume recording sessions in LA soon.
- The album is expected to release in early 2026, just ahead of the world tour launch.
Their current activities underline a global focus, and the inclusion of India would align perfectly with their expansion goals.
The Indian ARMY’s Long Wait May Finally End
While fans in India have celebrated BTS from afar, a live performance has remained a dream—until now. With HYBE’s physical presence in India, the country’s booming fan culture, and BTS’s previous plans to tour here, 2026 could finally be the year that dream becomes reality.
