Machu Picchu Is Hosting A Historic All-Women Trek To Break Stereotypes

And to prove that women are no less in any field, Machu Picchu is all set to host an all-women trek for tour leaders and porters on March 30, 2021. Read on to know more about this incredible trek.

The Special All Women Trek Is Designed To Break All The Gender Stereotypes
Reports state that the trek has been designed to break stereotypes and to support women against discrimination. It also aims to help women get an opportunity to earn a fair income. The all-women team of porters and tour leaders will lead the all-women group of clients.

As per the reports, there will be 8-10 porters and two tour guides, who will be carrying all the types of equipment from start to end. The trek will commence from the Inca Trail at KM102, after which they will transition to the stunning Salkantay Trail for a five-day trek.

Besides this, reports also state that the women will set up camp daily and guide their clients along the famous trails. And if you think this camping is all about trekking, you must know that the guides and porters will be paid the same wage as men, which is around $87 for a five-day trek plus tips.
