Kindle Scribe Gets a Major Upgrade
At its 2025 fall hardware event, Amazon introduced an overhauled Kindle Scribe alongside the debut of its first color e-ink device, the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. Both tablets are designed for reading, writing, and AI-enhanced interaction, pushing Kindle deeper into the productivity and creativity space.
- The new Kindle Scribe features an 11-inch glare-free screen, is just 5.4mm thin, and weighs 400g.
- Page turns and writing are 40% faster thanks to a quad-core chip, more memory, and Amazon’s latest Oxide display technology.
- A texture-molded glass screen adds friction, simulating the feel of writing on paper.
Two models will be available:

Introducing Kindle Scribe Colorsoft
The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is Amazon’s first color Kindle, designed for reading and sketching in a softer, eye-friendly color palette—a clear departure from traditional LCD screens.
