FiiO QX13 Adds Wired Audio Back to Smartphones with Dual Jacks and Magnetic Mount

Designed for audiophiles on the move, the QX13 delivers high-resolution audio and dual output options in a compact, MagSafe-compatible package.

A Modern Fix for Missing Headphone Jacks

With most new smartphones ditching the 3.5 mm headphone jack, FiiO has stepped in with the QX13—a portable DAC and headphone amplifier that restores wired audio in a premium, compact form.

  • Attaches magnetically to the back of smartphones using MagSafe or Qi2-compatible magnets
  • Provides both 3.5 mm unbalanced and 4.4 mm balanced headphone outputs
  • Connects via USB-C to support high-res audio decoding

Compact Size, Serious Power

Despite its tiny footprint, the FiiO QX13 packs impressive performance:

  • 570 mW per channel in mobile mode
  • Up to 900 mW in desktop mode for high-impedance headphones
  • Measures just 6.4 Ă— 3 Ă— 1.3 cm and weighs 33–39 g, depending on the finish (carbon or aluminum)

It’s designed to magnetically attach to phones like the iPhone, HMD Skyline, or any Android phone in a Qi2-compatible case.

High-End Audio with ESS Sabre DAC

The QX13 uses the ES9027PRO DAC chip from ESS Technology—known for delivering ultra-low distortion and wide dynamic range.

  • Supports playback up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM
  • Also compatible with DSD512 for audiophile-grade digital audio
  • Front-facing 1.99″ IPS display shows playback quality and volume info

This makes the QX13 not just a headphone dongle, but a true upgrade in audio fidelity for smartphone users.

Pricing and Availability

FiiO’s QX13 will be available soon through select retailers:

  • Price: $219 / ÂŁ219 / €239
  • More specs and compatibility details are available via the FiiO website

While not cheap, it’s aimed at users looking to bridge the gap between mobile convenience and wired audio quality—especially for lossless music streaming and high-impedance headphone use.
