Samsung rolls out One UI 8 to the 2024 version of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in select Asian markets—older models remain ineligible.
One UI 8 Arrives for Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024)
Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) edition.
- The update is currently live in Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
- It is expected to expand to other regions in the coming weeks.
- To check for the update:
Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Users may need to check more than once if the update hasn’t appeared yet.
Only the 2024 Model Is Eligible
It’s important to clarify that only the 2024 version of the Tab S6 Lite is receiving this update.
- The original 2020 model ended support at Android 13 / One UI 5.
- The 2022 model did not receive updates beyond Android 14 / One UI 6.
This makes the 2024 edition the sole Tab S6 Lite variant eligible for Samsung’s latest software.
