Spotify Adds Remote Playlist Downloads for Galaxy Watch Users
Galaxy Watch Owners Can Now Manage Music Downloads More Easily from Their Phone
Spotify has introduced a new feature that makes downloading music to your Galaxy Watch easier than ever. With the latest update, Spotify Premium users can now initiate playlist downloads on their Galaxy Watch directly from a connected smartphone or tablet, eliminating the need to navigate the small screen on the watch itself.
Remote Downloads from Phone to Watch
This feature lets users send music to their Galaxy Watch without ever opening the Spotify app on the watch.
- Simply open Spotify on your phone or tablet, find a playlist, tap the three-dot menu, and select âDownload to other devicesâ.
- Choose your Galaxy Watch from the device list to start the download.
- The only requirement is that both devices must be signed into the same Spotify Premium account.
Offline Listening, Even Remotely
Interestingly, your watch doesnât need to be physically near your phone for this feature to work.
- It supports remote functionality, allowing downloads to begin even when your watch is elsewhere.
- The feature is also available on Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, not just Samsung hardware.
Tested and Verified Compatibility
The new download option has been tested on devices like the Galaxy S23 Ultra running One UI 7 and the Galaxy Watch 4 with Wear OS 5, with seamless functionality reported.
New ‘Manage Downloads’ Tool
Spotify has also added a âManage Downloadsâ section, which:
- Shows which devices have specific playlists stored.
- Helps users manage Spotify Premiumâs five-device download limit more effectively.
For Galaxy Watch users who are also Spotify Premium subscribers, this update delivers a big boost in convenienceâmaking music management and offline access smarter and more streamlined than ever.
