Community of New World Challenges the Devs to Play Their Own Endgame – and the Devs Accepted

The developers at Amazon Game Studios accepted a challenge from a few New World players who were unhappy with the MMO’s endgame to stream themselves doing a chest and portal run in Myrkgard to demonstrate they actually play the game.

As reported by GameSpot, New World players started the petition after several changes made high-level elite zones a lot more complex than they were before. To demonstrate a viable way of completing this difficult undertaking, Amazon Games Studios was asked to complete this run.

Amazon accepted the community’s challenge and posted a 55-minute “New World – Myrkgard Dev Run” in which 10 developers – including game director Scot Lane – attempted to complete the requested run.

The devs admitted they were not as strong as some of New World’s most dedicated players, but they were nonetheless ready to face the dangers. As these devs attempted to make it through, some hilarious chaos ensued, and they even shared some tips like “keep your tank full or bad things will happen” and “sometimes surrender is the best option.”

And surrender they did. The fight ended after a good fight and some playful jabs at some of their teammates who had made too many enemies.

New World’s players have well received the move, showing that Amazon Game Studios listens to its fans and is willing to do whatever it takes to make the game the best it can be. The gesture was made even more positive when they released an hour-and-a-half-long developer update video addressing other issues.
