Modern Warfare 2 DMZ: New Game Mode Explained

A new game mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 that players are interested in is DMZ. The fans are eager to see what the third mode has to offer, since it is the third mode in the game. DMZ is supposedly inspired by Escape from Tarkov, so it is a bigger deal for fans of that series. So in this guide let us check what the DMZ mode is in Modern Warfare 2 and when it will release.

What is DMZ Mode in Modern Warfare 2?

DMZ is going to be the third game mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. This has been confirmed by Infinity Ward. Escape from Tarkov will be the inspiration for this extraction type of mode. AI and other players will be fought, loot extracted, and the player will be able to leave the game. Escape from Tarkov’s loadout mechanisms are an inspiration.

Anything you carry into DMZ mode can get lost if you die and are unable to escape. But on the flip side, anything you extract and escape with will be given to you. Thus you can decide whether to take the loot or not. While this isn’t officially confirmed, it is most likely how this mode will work.

One of the confirmed things by the developers is that it will take place in the Al Mazrah map. Another thing the developers confirmed is that the AI enemies are going to be tough. Depending on how the players and teams play, they can choose to reinforce their positions, patrol areas, hold strongholds, or occupy a large portion of the map.

Last but not least, one of the developers said you could choose which mission to accomplish. This mode will probably have multiple objectives, so it is safe to assume there will be multiple objectives. Up to 100 players can play in DMZ.
