Prince of Persia Remake Still in the Works, Ubisoft Confirms with New Art

Ubisoft Confirms Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake Still in Development, Launch Expected by March 2026

A quiet update from Ubisoft reassures fans that work continues on the long-delayed remake, though no new gameplay has been revealed.

“Still deep in the game,” says Ubisoft

Ubisoft has offered a brief but clear update on the status of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, confirming that the project remains in active development. In a post on the franchise’s official X account, the studio wrote:

“Yep, we’re still deep in the game – exploring, building, and ensuring the sands move with purpose. This game is being created by a team that truly cares…”

The message was accompanied by a new piece of artwork, showing a familiar architectural setting from the original 2003 game.

Release still set for early 2026

Ubisoft’s latest earnings report reconfirmed that the remake is now expected to launch by March 2026:

  • This narrows the previous “sometime in 2026” window.
  • The game was completely rebooted after its initial reveal in 2020 received negative feedback.

No Ubisoft Forward, no big showcase this year

With Ubisoft skipping its annual Ubisoft Forward showcase in 2025 and maintaining a low profile during Summer Game Fest, fans shouldn’t expect major updates this year. The studio seems to be taking a heads-down development approach, prioritizing quality and internal milestones.

Play The Rogue Prince of Persia in the meantime

While waiting, Ubisoft pointed players toward The Rogue Prince of Persia, another title currently available from the franchise. Though not a direct replacement, it offers a fresh experience within the same universe to help ease the wait.
