Sony’s Stellar Blade Becomes Its Biggest PC Hit Yet with 183K Peak Players

Stellar Blade Smashes Sony’s Steam Record for Single-Player Games with Over 183K Concurrent Players

The action RPG doubles the previous peak CCU set by God of War, signaling rising demand for Sony’s PC ports.

A Record-Breaking PC Debut

Stellar Blade has officially launched on PC, more than a year after its initial release on PlayStation 5, and it’s already making headlines. According to SteamDB, the game has reached a peak of 183,800 concurrent players—more than double the previous record for any Sony-published single-player title on Steam.

  • The record was set roughly nineteen hours after launch, and numbers may increase further during the weekend.

Previous Sony PC Peaks: A Comparison

Before Stellar Blade, Sony’s top single-player PC titles saw the following peak concurrent user (CCU) numbers:

  • God of War – 73.5K
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered – 66.4K
  • Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition – 56.5K
  • Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition – 40.4K
  • The Last of Us Part I – 36.4K
  • God of War Ragnarok – 35.6K
  • The Last of Us Part II Remastered – 30.6K
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – 28.1K
  • Days Gone – 27.4K

While Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut peaked at 77.1K, it includes multiplayer features, making Stellar Blade’s record more notable as a purely single-player experience.

Why Stellar Blade Is Surging

  • The game combines fast-paced action with stylish visuals and a unique sci-fi narrative.
  • Its success builds on strong PS5 reviews and growing anticipation from the PC community.
  • The PC version launched with robust performance, boosting its immediate adoption on Steam.

What’s Next: Lost Soul Aside Could Be a Contender

Sony’s next PC release, Lost Soul Aside, is launching day-and-date with consoles on August 29, a first for a Sony-published single-player title.

  • If well-reviewed, it could challenge Stellar Blade’s record, especially given the trend toward simultaneous PC-console releases gaining traction.
