Minecraft 1.19 is available now. We thought it would be a bit farther off, but Mojang has decided you can play it right now. That is, provided you’re willing to dig into a very experimental beta version.
The first experimental snapshot for 1.19 is now available for Minecraft: Java Edition, and it lets you explore the Deep Dark and meet the Warden.
You can get details on how to install the snapshot over on the official site, but bear in mind that you won’t be able to open old worlds here. Unless you create a new one, you won’t be able to use worlds created on the experimental snapshot in future versions.

Though the snapshot does not include every feature planned for 1.19, also known as the Wild update, it does include the Deep Dark biome, the Ancient City biome, the Warden mob, sculk blocks, the swift sneak enchantment, and the darkness mob effect.
However, once you start using the new features, keep in mind that this is still an ‘experimental’ snapshot. As a result, the developers are still experimenting with how all of these systems work, so any particular feature can undergo major modifications in the future.
The Minecraft 1.19 release date is set for sometime this year.
