The upcoming Assassins Creed game has been a victim to a good set of leaks and rumours, but it is hard to determine which one could be a possibility out of these. Initially, we heard that the next game in the Assassins Creed series would take place in Aztec times. Then, a person refuted this theory with their own theory stating that the next Assassins Creed game will be dubbed as ‘Rift’ and will take place in Baghdad, after that the team will work on Assassins Creed Infinity.
Ubisoft also stated in its quarterly report for FY 2022-23 that Assassins Creed has exceeded its expectations. The players know for sure that they are going to learn the setting for the next game in the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event that is slated for September 10, 2022. “This campaign will be marked by a series of celebrations for the community throughout the summer that will lead to the unveiling of the future of Assassin’s Creed in September during a very special event”.
Jason Schreier, the source for the Baghdad leak, also had some conversations on Twitter that provided the players with more teases for the next game. According to Schreier, Assassins Creed Infinity will serve as a platform for future Assassins Creed games, including Red. He has explicitly stated that Assassins Creed will be a part of AC Infinity when he was asked whether Rift and AC Infinity were the only games thats were releasing. Rift is the short one, likely the game that was planned for this fiscal year but now slipped to 2023-24.
In addition to Infinity there is still another big open world Assassin's Creed coming set in Asia according to two sources.
