FASTag Annual Pass Launching August 2025 – Price, Benefits & How It Changes Highway Travel
Starting August 15, 2025, India will roll out a ₹3,000 FASTag Annual Pass for private vehicles, aimed at streamlining toll payments and reducing congestion on national highways.
In a move to modernize highway travel and ease traffic at toll plazas, the Government of India is introducing a FASTag-based Annual Pass for non-commercial vehicles. Announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on X, this initiative is set to benefit frequent travelers who regularly commute on national highways.
What Is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass is a prepaid toll solution designed for private-use vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. Once activated, the pass will be valid for one year or 200 highway trips, whichever comes first. The system is particularly targeted at daily commuters within a 60 km radius of toll plazas.
How Much Will It Cost?
- Price: ₹3,000
- Validity: 1 year or 200 trips (whichever is earlier)
The fixed-rate model offers predictable toll costs and potential savings for regular travelers, removing the need for per-trip payments.
How to Get and Activate the Pass
- Activation will be available via the Rajmarg Yatra App
- Alternatively, users can access it through the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH
- Detailed instructions regarding documentation and eligibility will be released before launch
Vehicle Eligibility Criteria
Only non-commercial private vehicles are eligible for the pass. This includes:
- Personal-use cars
- Jeeps
- Vans
Commercial vehicles and those used for public transport or goods transport are not eligible.
