Galaxy Users Report Battery Drain After One UI 7—Here’s How to Fix It

Official Fixes Shared for Samsung One UI 7 Battery Drain Issues

Following the One UI 7 update rollout, many Samsung Galaxy users have reported battery drain problems, prompting Samsung to release a set of official troubleshooting tips. These tips aim to optimize battery performance and help users regain efficient daily usage after updating.

Battery complaints grow after One UI 7 rollout

Samsung introduced One UI 7 with the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025, expanding the update to other Galaxy models from April onward.

  • As the update reached flagship, mid-range, and budget devices, complaints about rapid battery drain surfaced widely on Reddit, X, and Samsung Members forums.
  • In response, Samsung moderators issued a guide of practical solutions users can implement.

Tips to fix One UI 7 battery issues

Here are the officially recommended tips to address battery issues on Galaxy phones running One UI 7:

1. Optimize your phone’s battery:

  • Go to Settings > Device Care > Optimize Now to check and improve battery, storage, and memory usage.

2. Turn off unused features:

  • Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and mobile data when not in use to reduce background battery drain.

3. Avoid poor network zones:

  • Using your phone in areas with weak or unstable signals can cause excessive battery usage due to constant reconnection attempts.

4. Adjust display settings:

  • Lower brightness or turn on auto-brightness.
  • Set screen timeout to a lower duration via Settings > Display > Screen timeout.

5. Identify battery-draining apps:

  • Use Device Care to see which apps are consuming the most battery.
  • Update or limit usage of these apps if needed.

6. Close background apps:

  • Manually close apps not in use to reduce unnecessary background activity.

7. Disable auto-sync:

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen and turn off auto-sync for apps and emails.

8. Factory reset (last resort):

  • If issues persist, back up your data and navigate to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory Data Reset.
  • Be sure to know your Google account credentials before proceeding.

Ongoing monitoring and updates

While these steps can alleviate most issues, Samsung is likely to address unresolved cases in a future software update.

  • Users are also encouraged to report their experiences through the Samsung Members app for detailed diagnostics.
