How to Create iPhone Contact Posters: A Simple Step-by-Step Guide
Personalize your call screen with iOS 17’s Contact Poster feature
Apple’s iOS 17 introduced a fun and dynamic feature called Contact Posters, letting you personalize the screen your contacts see when you call them. You can choose a photo, Memoji, or monogram, along with your name and custom fonts. Here’s how to create, customize, edit, or delete your own Contact Poster with ease.
What Is a Contact Poster?
A Contact Poster is a full-screen visual that shows up when you call someone using the Phone app, third-party apps, or NameDrop. It includes your photo or Memoji, your name, and a stylized font and color—just like customizing your iPhone’s lock screen.
How to Create a Contact Poster
1. Open Contacts > My Card
2. Tap Contact Photo & Poster > Edit
3. Enable Name & Photo Sharing by toggling it on
4. Tap Customize > Poster
Then follow these steps:
- Choose a style: Take a photo, select from your gallery, use a Memoji, or pick a Monogram.
- Customize your name: Tap the name field to edit text, font, and color.
- Adjust the background (for Memoji or Monogram): Tap the color circle.
- Preview your poster, then tap Continue to confirm.
- From Share Automatically, select Contacts Only or Always Ask.
How to Edit or Switch Your Contact Poster
Want to tweak your current design or swap in a new one? Here’s how:
To switch posters:
Contacts > My Card > Contact Photo & Poster > Edit > Swipe to choose > Done
To edit a poster:
Contacts > My Card > Contact Photo & Poster > Edit > Customize > Poster > Make changes > Continue
To delete a poster:
Contacts > My Card > Contact Photo & Poster > Edit > Swipe up on poster > Tap Trash icon > Delete
How to Turn Off NameDrop (Contact Sharing)
If you don’t want your Contact Poster and name to be shared automatically via NameDrop, simply toggle off Name & Photo Sharing in the Contact Photo & Poster settings.
