5G FWA vs Fiber: Which One Makes More Sense for Your Business?

Blue Cloud to Lead Deployment and Promotion of 5G Fixed Wireless Access Services for Enterprises Under BSNL Brand

BSNL Taps Blue Cloud for 5G FWA Integration

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has officially onboarded Blue Cloud Softech Solutions (BCSS) as its system integrator for the rollout of 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services. Initially focused on Andhra Pradesh, the partnership also extends nationwide for 5G Internet Leased Line (ILL) deployments.

  • Partnership is valid for five years.
  • BCSS will act as a strategic technology and infrastructure partner for BSNL’s 5G FWA ambitions.

Scope of Work for Blue Cloud Softech Solutions

As the system integrator, Blue Cloud will handle end-to-end responsibilities in the 5G FWA rollout:

  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining 5G components.
  • Includes 5G Radio Access Network (RAN), Edge CORE, Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
  • Support for radio and wireless infrastructure for enterprise-grade deployments.

Promoting Enterprise Adoption

A key role for Blue Cloud will be to actively promote FWA services to enterprise customers, especially in locations lacking fiber broadband or leased line infrastructure.

  • BSNL will retain billing control and sell services under its own brand.
  • Revenue sharing model: 70% to BCSS, 30% to BSNL.
  • Enterprises with limited connectivity options are a target market for this initiative.

Race Against Private Players

BSNL’s urgency to deploy 5G FWA comes amid rising competition from Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi), all of whom are actively expanding their 5G footprints and showcasing FWA capabilities.

  • Jio and Airtel have already launched commercial-grade 5G in several regions.
  • Vi has demonstrated FWA solutions at India Mobile Congress (IMC) events.

If BSNL delays further, it risks losing enterprise market share in key regions.

Why FWA is a Game Changer

5G FWA serves as a bridge technology in areas where traditional fiber or leased line networks are not feasible. It provides:

  • High-speed internet access over wireless networks.
  • Rapid deployment compared to fiber installations.
  • Cost-effective connectivity for businesses in underserved areas.

Enterprises in semi-urban and industrial regions could benefit the most from early FWA rollout.

Looking Ahead: BSNL’s Broader 5G Plans

BSNL is also targeting a December 2025 launch for 5G mobile services in metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai. The success of the FWA initiative could:

  • Boost BSNL’s credibility in the enterprise market.
  • Establish groundwork for its larger 5G rollout across consumer and business segments.
  • Help the operator regain market relevance after years of lagging behind private telcos.

BSNL has partnered with Blue Cloud Softech Solutions to deploy and promote 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services in Andhra Pradesh and nationally. Aimed at enterprises, the rollout is de
