HGS Partners With UP Government to Connect 2 Million Homes

Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd. (HGS) added 79 new clients across its BPM and digital businesses during FY26 as the company stepped up its push into AI-driven services.

The Bengaluru-based company also outlined plans for Project Ganga, under which subsidiary ONEOTT Entertainment Ltd. has partnered with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide high-speed fiber connectivity to more than 2 million households over the next two to three years.

Shares of HGS, which has a market capitalization of ₹1,979.44 crore, were trading at ₹425.50, down 0.39 percent from the previous close of ₹427.15.

AI strategy takes center stage

HGS rebranded itself in March 2026 as an “intelligent experience partner”, bringing together its experience, platform and operations capabilities under a single framework.

The company’s “Realized AI” model aims to move customers from pilot projects to production deployments within 90 days.

Its proprietary AgentX platform ended FY26 with:

  • 23 active customers
  • 21 AI assistants deployed within client workflows

The company has also launched eight packaged AI applications.

Among them are:

  • AMLens
  • LoanFlow
  • KYCVision

Examples of AI deployments

HGS highlighted several customer implementations:

  • A US medical device client recorded a 35-45 percent increase in sales conversion, with response times of less than five seconds.
  • A North American beauty brand automated 60-70 percent of consumer trend analysis.
  • In the UK public sector, the company’s Case Assist tool reduced manual case processing time from more than four hours to about 30 minutes.

Project Ganga targets 2 million homes

The broadband expansion is being driven by Project Ganga, announced in March 2026.

The initiative aims to provide fiber connectivity across Uttar Pradesh through a network of up to 10,000 Digital Service Providers (DSPs) operating at the Nyaya Panchayat level.

The programme places special emphasis on women entrepreneurs.

According to the company:

  • Network rollout costs will be funded through the state’s CM Yuva Scheme.
  • The scheme provides interest-free and collateral-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh to DSPs.
  • HGS will provide network design, training and operational support.

Skill development programme

A separate agreement with the Uttar Pradesh government aims to provide digital skills training to 100,000 youth.

Broadband business shifts focus

HGS said broadband has become the growth engine for its media business amid structural challenges faced by cable television and DTH services.

Other highlights include:

  • Enterprise broadband brand CelerityX increased its total contract value by five times in FY26.
  • The share of customers using plans below 50 Mbps declined from 54 percent to 46 percent.
  • Customers on plans above 100 Mbps increased to 15 percent of the base.
