PSU Insurer to Sell 1.05 Crore NSE Shares in Upcoming IPO

Shares of The New India Assurance Company Ltd jumped over 14 percent after the company announced plans to participate in the upcoming National Stock Exchange (NSE) initial public offering by selling a part of its stake through an offer for sale (OFS).

The stock touched an intraday high of Rs. 188.50, up 14.24 percent from the previous close of Rs. 165. It later eased slightly and was trading at Rs. 187.60.

The company has a market capitalisation of around Rs. 30,916 crore.

1.05 Crore NSE Shares to Be Sold

New India Assurance plans to sell approximately 1.05 crore shares of NSE as part of the exchange’s proposed IPO.

NSE shares are currently quoted in the unlisted market at around Rs. 2,055-2,066 per share.

Based on these levels, the proposed stake sale is estimated to be worth about Rs. 2,100 crore.
