Just days after Samsung paused the One UI 8.0 rollout, the company is back on track with a new update for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. Though the initial rollout faced a brief halt, the latest firmware release makes it seem as though nothing ever stopped.

• Restores availability of the firmware for all Galaxy S23 variants

What’s in the New Update?

The latest update is a security-focused patch featuring:

• The October 2025 security patch
• Fixes for approximately two dozen vulnerabilities affecting:
  • Core Android OS
  • Samsung’s proprietary One UI components

Though the update doesn’t include new features, it strengthens the device’s protection against exploits and system bugs.

Update Size and Availability

Here’s what to expect depending on your current software version:

• If already on One UI 8.0: ~400MB download size
• If on One UI 7.x: Much larger package as it includes the full OS upgrade to Android 16 / One UI 8.0

The rollout has started in South Korea and will expand to other regions in the coming days.

• To update manually:
  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Software update
  3. Tap Download and install

What About the Galaxy S23 FE?

As of now, the update is only confirmed for:

• Galaxy S23
• Galaxy S23+
• Galaxy S23 Ultra

However, the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to receive a similar update soon, following the same security enhancements and software consistency.
