UFS 4.1: A Big Leap in Storage Performance
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series could be the company’s fastest Android flagship yet, thanks to UFS 4.1 storage.
- Samsung has been using UFS 4.0 since the Galaxy S23, and it carried through to the S24 and S25.
- With the S26 Pro, Edge, and Ultra, Samsung is expected to make the jump to UFS 4.1 for the first time in three years.
- Much of this is enabled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which natively supports UFS 4.1.
Earlier this year, Micron introduced UFS 4.1 solutions, and since Samsung sources a large portion of its memory chips from Micron, the timing aligns well for this upgrade.
