Galaxy Z Flip FE May Debut with Flip7 and Fold7: Fan Edition Foldable Confirmed

Galaxy Z Flip FE May Launch Alongside Z Flip7 and Fold7 This Summer

Samsung readies an affordable foldable to reclaim momentum in a competitive market.

Samsung Plans Trio Foldable Launch in Summer 2025

Samsung appears poised to unveil not two, but three foldable phones this summer—Galaxy Z Flip7, Z Fold7, and a new Galaxy Z Flip FE (Fan Edition).

  • While earlier reports hinted at a launch delay for the FE model, reliable insider Max Jambor confirms the device is already in production.
  • The Flip FE is expected to weigh 187 grams, the same as the Z Flip6, reinforcing its design consistency.

Affordable But Not Underwhelming

Despite being a more affordable offering, the Galaxy Z Flip FE may pack a punch:

  • It’s reportedly powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset.
  • Meanwhile, the Z Flip7 will feature the more advanced 3nm Exynos 2500, ensuring performance separation.
  • The folding experience and premium design will reportedly be preserved, despite the lower price tag.

Design Similarities, Hardware Differences

Samsung seems committed to a consistent look across the foldables, but there will be some clear technical differences:

  • Key differences between the Flip FE and Flip7 will include the cover display, processor, and battery capacity.
  • The FE may closely resemble the Z Flip5 or Flip6 in terms of internal components and external design.
  • In contrast, the Flip7 could feature a full-view external display, akin to the latest Motorola Razr.

Demo Units Already in Stores

According to Max Jambor, the current production includes live demo units intended for retail display, with consumer unit production likely underway this month.

  • This suggests that a summer retail launch is on track, aligning with Samsung’s annual Unpacked timeline.

Samsung’s Strategy to Reclaim Foldable Market Share

As Chinese brands continue to gain ground in the foldable space, Samsung is seeking to diversify its portfolio and reach new price segments.

  • The Galaxy Z Flip FE may help widen adoption of foldables by offering a more accessible entry point.
  • Meanwhile, the Z Fold7 is set to receive notable upgrades:
    • Larger cover and inner displays
    • A potential 200MP main camera
    • Slimmer, lighter design without sacrificing durability
