Now in 180 countries, Google’s AI Mode introduces reservation booking, tailored suggestions, and collaborative tools for more dynamic search experiences
AI Mode Rolls Out Globally in English
Google’s AI Mode, which enhances Search with conversational, follow-up-driven AI, is expanding beyond its initial rollout in the U.S., U.K., and India. The company announced the global launch of AI Mode in English, bringing the feature to 180 additional countries.
- Expansion marks a significant step in Google’s mission to redefine Search
- Support for other languages and regions is expected to follow
AI Mode uses Google’s most advanced AI models to help users ask multi-step, complex questions, follow up with clarifying prompts, and explore topics in-depth without starting over.
Introducing New “Agentic” Capabilities
With the expansion comes a powerful set of agentic features — tools that allow AI Mode to act on your behalf across services.
- Restaurant Reservations: Users can now ask for dinner spots based on criteria like location, cuisine, date, time, and party size
- AI Mode will check multiple booking platforms to find real-time availability
- Results are curated and interactive, helping users make quicker decisions
This functionality is currently rolling out exclusively to U.S. users subscribed to the AI Ultra plan ($249.99/month) through the Labs experimental program.
- Future expansions will include event ticketing and local service appointment booking
Personalized AI Search, Based on You
Google is also enhancing AI Mode’s personalization to deliver tailored search results based on individual interests.
- For now, personalization focuses on dining-related topics
- AI Mode factors in your past interactions in Search and Maps to refine its suggestions
- Example: Ask for a “quick lunch spot,” and it may recommend your favorite cuisine, nearby, with preferred seating
Users maintain control with adjustable personalization settings via their Google Account.
Collaboration and Sharing Come to Search
A new “Share” button in AI Mode lets users invite others into their AI-powered conversations.
- Ideal for group planning, like vacations, events, or gift ideas
- Shared sessions allow others to continue the thread, giving them full access to the evolving context
- Google positions this as a way to make Search more social and interactive
What This Means for Search
These upgrades mark a clear shift in how Google envisions the future of search:
- From passive query results to proactive task completion
- From one-size-fits-all results to context-aware, hyper-personalized suggestions
- From solo interactions to shared, collaborative experiences
The inclusion of real-time booking and personalized answers moves AI Mode beyond information delivery — it’s now a personal assistant, travel planner, and social organizer all in one.
