Nothing Phone (3) Replaces Glyph Interface with New Glyph Matrix Display
Nothing’s latest update confirms that the Glyph Interface on the Phone (3) is being replaced with the new Glyph Matrix, bringing a fresh, customizable design and new features.
Introducing the Glyph Matrix
In a recent teaser on X (formerly Twitter), Nothing unveiled the Glyph Matrix, which will replace its signature Glyph Interface. The new setup features a dot matrix-style display, similar to the one seen on devices like the Asus ROG Phone 9 series.
- The Glyph Matrix is designed to be more customizable than the previous LED strips, potentially offering practical uses that go beyond just flashy lighting.
- This shift in design could mean greater user personalization options, making the device more functional.
Key Design Change: Glyph Matrix Placement
The Glyph Matrix will now be located on the right side of the Phone (3), instead of being centered as previously suggested by leaks.
- This change calls into question the accuracy of earlier renders, as 9to5Google pointed out that previous leaks showed the camera module overlapping the Glyph area. With the Glyph Matrix now shifted to the right, itâs likely that the camera setup will be left-aligned.
Confirmed Specifications for the Phone (3)
In addition to the design update, Nothing has also confirmed a few key specs for the Phone (3):
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip for high-end performance.
- The device will be supported with five years of Android updates and seven years of security patches, making it a long-term investment for users.
Pricing and Launch Details
- The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to launch at a starting price of $799 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, with the higher-end 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model priced at $899.
- The official launch event will take place in London on July 1, where the Nothing Headphone (1) is also expected to make its debut.
With the Glyph Matrix offering more customization and a unique display, the Nothing Phone (3) is shaping up to be an exciting update to the brandâs lineup. Stay tuned for more details following the July 1 launch event.
