Samsung is continuing its strong track record of post-launch software support with the release of the November 2025 security patch for its 2023 foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. This latest firmware brings critical security enhancements and stability improvements to both devices.
- The update addresses 25 security vulnerabilities found in the previous OS version.
- Currently available only in South Korea, the patch will roll out to other markets soon.
Firmware Versions and Regional Rollout
The new update is available under the following firmware versions:
- Galaxy Z Fold 5: F946NKSS5FYK3
- Galaxy Z Flip 5: F731NKSS5FYK3
Though currently limited to South Korean users, international availability is expected within days, following Samsung’s usual staged rollout strategy.
How to Check for the Update
If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Flip 5, updating is simple:
- Open Settings
- Tap Software update
- Select Download and install
Samsung also allows for manual installation through its Odin tool for Windows PCs, once firmware files are made publicly available.
More Than Just Security
While this update focuses on security, it’s part of Samsung’s broader effort to keep its foldable devices stable and secure ahead of the One UI 8.5 release. These 2023 foldables are confirmed to be eligible for One UI 8.5, which is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026.
