Samsung Expands One UI 8 for A33 and A53 Across Europe

Samsung expands One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy A33 and A53 in Europe, marking their final major Android upgrade before transitioning to security updates.

One UI 8 Now Rolling Out to Galaxy A33 and A53 in Europe

Samsung has begun expanding the One UI 8 update to its 2022 mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53, in Europe.

  • This follows the initial release in South Korea last week.
  • The update brings these popular devices from One UI 7 to One UI 8, based on Android 16.
  • It’s expected to expand to more regions in the coming days.

For many users, this will feel like a complete refresh of the software experience.

How to Identify and Install the Update

Each model has its own unique build number to look for:

  • Galaxy A33: A336BXXUEGYI8
  • Galaxy A53: A536BXXUHGYI9

To install the update:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Software update
  3. Select Download and install

Ensure your phone is charged and connected to Wi-Fi before updating.

Final Major OS Update for A33 and A53

The One UI 8 update marks the last major Android upgrade for both devices.

  • The Galaxy A33 and A53 launched with One UI 4.0 (Android 12).
  • Samsung had promised four generations of OS upgrades—this completes that promise.
  • While One UI 8.5 (based on Android 16 QPR2) may arrive next year, it’s considered a refinement, not a new generation.

From 2026 onward, users will continue to receive security patches, but no further Android version updates.

What’s New in One UI 8 for A-Series Devices

While some features are reserved for flagship models, One UI 8 still brings several improvements to the A33 and A53:

  • Visual upgrades to animations, transitions, and Quick Panel
  • Enhanced privacy controls and notification settings
  • Smoother multitasking and performance optimizations
  • Battery life enhancements and smarter device care tools

Samsung also introduces AI-powered suggestions and refinements to stock apps, making the overall user experience cleaner and more intuitive.
