The October 2025 security patch targets 14 Android vulnerabilities and 12 Samsung-specific issues — rolling out soon to eligible Galaxy phones and tablets.
What’s in the October 2025 Security Patch?
Samsung has published the official breakdown of its October 2025 security update, ahead of the full rollout. Although it hasn’t reached devices yet, the patch includes 26 total fixes, addressing vulnerabilities across the Android system and Samsung’s own software.
Key Highlights of the Patch
Here’s what users can expect in this month’s update:
- 🔒 14 Android OS vulnerabilities patched
- All rated high priority
- No critical, moderate, or low-severity issues listed
- 🛡️ 12 Samsung-specific vulnerabilities addressed
- Unique to Galaxy phones and tablets
- Targeting One UI features, custom apps, and system services
Samsung developed proprietary fixes for its ecosystem, ensuring deeper security coverage than what Google’s base Android patch provides.
Google’s Fixes vs. Samsung’s Version
While Google’s October 2025 Android patch includes six additional fixes, Samsung has clarified that those do not apply to Galaxy devices. As such, the Galaxy-specific update focuses on relevant security threats across Samsung’s software layer.
When Will the Update Roll Out?
Although the rollout hasn’t officially begun, Samsung typically pushes its monthly patches to supported models within a few weeks after publishing details. Devices on the monthly update schedule — like the Galaxy S, Z, and newer A-series phones — should begin receiving the patch before the end of October.
📅 Note:
Some Galaxy models don’t receive updates monthly. These devices may receive the October fixes in combined patches later, depending on:
- The last update they received
- Their current update frequency (bi-monthly or quarterly)
- Regional software rollout timing
