Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup has quietly appeared in the GSMA database—yet the absence of an S26 Plus entry leaves more questions than answers.

On July 9, Samsung unveiled its Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE, but a recent GSMA leak focuses on the S26 series.
- SM-S942: Galaxy S26
- SM-S947: Galaxy S26 Edge
- SM-S948: Galaxy S26 Ultra
The conspicuous omission of SM-S946 suggests Samsung may drop the traditional “Plus” model in favor of an Edge variant.
Decoding the numbering
Samsung’s model codes typically map to device hierarchy:
- S26 (SM-S942) could inherit “Plus” perks like a larger display and bigger battery.
- S26 Edge (SM-S947) appears to replace the Plus, offering a curved-screen design at mid-range price.
- S26 Ultra (SM-S948) will likely remain Samsung’s top-spec powerhouse.
What’s different this time?
By shifting from the expected SM-S941 to SM-S942 for the base model, Samsung hints at notable upgrades—perhaps a brighter LTPO display or faster charging. The Edge and Ultra follow the usual sequence, but the model jump may foreshadow a revamped product hierarchy.

- Launch window: Historically, Galaxy S flagships debut in January or February, so expect the S26 reveal in early 2026.
