Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini Leak Reveals 6.3-Inch Display, Bold New Camera Design

Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini With 6.3-Inch Display in Development, Lineup to Feature Horizontal Camera Module

Xiaomi 16 Series Expands to Four Models

The upcoming Xiaomi 16 series is set for launch by September 2025, and recent leaks suggest it will consist of four models for the first time:

  • Xiaomi 16
  • Xiaomi 16 Pro
  • Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini (tentative name)
  • Xiaomi 16 Ultra (possibly also called Pro Max)

Compact and Large Pro Variants, New Camera Design

For the first time, Xiaomi will introduce a compact Pro variant with a 6.3-inch display, alongside a larger 6.8-inch Pro version.

  • Both Pro models will feature a large, horizontal matrix-style camera module, covering nearly one-third of the rear—similar to what’s rumored for the iPhone 17 series.
  • Camera lens protectors leaked online confirm the wide, horizontally aligned design and hint at periscope telephoto lens support for enhanced photography.

Ultra Version and Innovative Features

The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is rumored to include a secondary rear display, much like the Mi 11 Ultra, boosting functionality for notifications and selfies.

  • The new camera module design sets the lineup apart with a bold, premium aesthetic,
  • The Ultra/Pro Max is expected to top the range with advanced camera features and possibly a larger secondary display.

Flagship Performance With Snapdragon 8 Elite 2

All Xiaomi 16 series models are expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset:

  • Built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process with Qualcomm’s second-gen Oryon CPU,
  • Expected to deliver Geekbench 6 scores of over 4,000 (single core) and 11,000 (multi-core),
  • GPU upgrades include a 16MB independent cache for enhanced performance and efficiency.

Modern Design and Strong Competition

  • The horizontal camera module on the Xiaomi 16 Pro series mirrors leaks of the iPhone 17, signaling a new industry design trend,
  • Xiaomi’s adoption of both compact and large Pro models will cater to users who prefer different sizes without sacrificing flagship features.

With innovative camera design, flagship-level performance, and a compact Pro option, the Xiaomi 16 series is set to compete aggressively in the premium smartphone market later this year.
