NASA Chandra Releases Image Of A Massive Star Trapped Inside A Bubble

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) recently shared an image of a massive star engulfed inside a bubble! The star within this Bubble Nebula burns a million times brighter than our Sun and generates powerful gaseous emissions that howl at more than four million miles per hour. The image has been published by NASA’s official Instagram page and has gathered over 2 million likes and 8,000 comments.

The caption for the image states, “The star at the center of this Bubble Nebula burns a million times brighter than our Sun and generates powerful gaseous outflows that howl at speeds of more than four million miles per hour!”.

In addition, it says, “Based on the rate the star is releasing energy, scientists estimate it will explode as a supernova in 10 to 20 million years. And the bubble will burst”.

According to the caption, “Our universe is full of strange and surprising things. And luckily, @NASAHubble is our window toward the unimaginable! Hubble recently encountered a problem with its payload computer, which controls and coordinates science instruments onboard the spacecraft. The team has recovered the data successfully from backup hardware today! After a small calibration of the instruments, the normal science operations will resume”‘.

Awestruck netizens flooded the web with comments ranging from “simply amazing!” to “absolutely beautiful!” European Space Agency (ESA) also commented on the image, stating, “really good news indeed!”.
