India vs Pakistan Highlights Asia Cup 2022, IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2022 Highlights:

Hardik Pandya endured and played a stunning knock to power India to a thrilling 5-wicket win over Pakistan in the IND vs PAK clash of Asia Cup 2022. As India needed 7 from the final over, Ravindra Jadeja was out on the first ball.

Allrounder Mohammad Nawaz attempted to finish things off with a big shot, but was thwarted by the left-arm spinner. Dinesh Karthik then took a single before Nawaz bowled a dot delivery. Pandya struck a big six on the 4th ball of the game to end it in style with 6 needed from 3 balls.

Chasing 148, the Men in Blue were off to a disastrous start. Debutant Naseem Shah castled KL Rahul for a duck in the very first over. In the same over, he almost had Virat Kohli’s wicket too but Fakhar Zaman could not hold on to a tough chance at second slip. Skipper Rohit Sharma struggled to time the ball while Kohli played some fine shots. The duo, however, could not bat India to a position of strength.

By the tenth over, India was 53 for 3, having lost three wickets in quick succession. Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra managed to steady the ship but they could not stitch a big partnership either. Once again, Naseem did the damage by removing Suryakumar for 18 in the 15th over to reduce India to 89 for 4. Jadeja and Pandya then shared 52 runs for the fifth wicket before the latter left for 35. On the other hand, Pandya remained unbeaten on 33 off just 17 deliveries.

Pakistan innings:

In the earlier match, India bowled Pakistan out for 147. Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh both claimed three and two wickets respectively, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four for 26 off his four overs. Asked to bat first, Pakistan were off to a poor start. Skipper Babar Azam played a couple of good shots for two fours but departed for just 10 in the third over.

Fakhar Zaman also fell after he edged an Avesh Khan delivery behind the stumps before the powerplay ended. Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed then shared a 45-run stand. Pandya broke the stand when he dismissed Iftikhar for 28. In the end, Pakistan lost two more wickets, including that of Rizwan, as they slumped to 97 for 5 at the end of the innings.

Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the final few overs and were 9 down for 128. At that stage, it looked like they would not even manage to touch the 140-run mark. However, Haris Rauf and Shahnawaz Dahani played useful cameos to help their team post a 145-plus total.

Brief scores: India 148/5 in 19.4 overs (Ravindra Jadeja 35, Virat Kohli 35; Mohammad Nawaz 3-33) beat Pakistan 147/10 in 19.5 overs (Mohammad Rizwan 43, Iftikhar Ahmed 28; Bhuvneshwar Kumar 4-26) by 5 wickets.
