Dogecoin To Become A Viable Payment Option: Elon Musk Shares ‘Super Important’ Proposal

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who is also well known for his deep interest in Dogecoin, has captured attention again with a tweet praising the meme-based cryptocurrency. Musk offered a proposal for the cryptocurrency to become a payment option for all in response to a tweet by Dogecoin creator Billy Markus aka Shibetoshi Nakamoto.

Markus responded to Chief Executive of U.S. cinema chain AMC Adam Aron’s tweets as cryptocurrency’s price managed to bounce back in the past 24 hours. AMC CEO talked about accepting Dogecoin, saying it was one of the most interacted with tweets he has ever sent, the crypto market is finally seeing some green.” And Musk responded, “Super important for Doge fees to drop to make things like buying movie tickets viable.”

CEO Adam Aron had run a poll earlier, asking the crypto community if AMC should explore accepting Dogecoin, which the Tesla founder liked. And commenting on Musk’s reaction to the tweet, Aron wrote, “My Dogecoin Twitter Poll has been liked by @ElonMusk. I never thought this day would come. I have strived to be an innovator my entire career, but you, sir, are the epitome of innovation above all others,” he said in another tweet.”

The poll concluded with 68% of voters supporting the idea of AMC accepting the meme-based cryptocurrency as payment while 23% opposed it (and 9% said they wouldn’t use it). The enormous response left the AMC CEO overwhelmed, who shared his enthusiasm via another tweet.

Known for sharing his thoughts on Dogecoin in the past, Musk’s tweet caused a spike in the cryptocurrency’s price. With the cryptocurrency market already rebounding, it is expected to become more volatile due to the Musk Effect.
