Free Vaccination For 100,000 Wipro Employees, Families; These Vaccines Will Be Used

One of the leading IT companies of India, Wipro, will begin a vaccination drive for its employees and their dependents. This will begin in early June as soon as the company will get access to a total of 100,000 doses of vaccines.

In a statement by the company, they have joined up with top-tier hospitals and a tech-enabled online-to-offline delivery platform that specializes in primary care and urgent response services. Together, they will provide COVID-19 vaccine to its employees based in India.

As per the statement, “Wipro expects to have access to a total of 100,000 doses of three vaccines – Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V — as the first tranche for the exclusive use of our employees and their dependents (spouse and children).”

As per reports, these vaccination services will be offered free of charge and will be administered both locations, at the campuses of the company and at partner hospitals around the country. The partner hospitals are together present in over 140 locations across the country.

The statement also states that this is in addition to the Covid vaccination support that has been extended to all eligible employees through their NOW platform (Nurturing our Wellness).

TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Among Other IT Companies To Offer Vaccination
Wipro is not the only company to offer vaccination to their employees.

Previously, there was news about Indian IT companies, viz., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies Ltd., organizing vaccination camps for their employees and their family members. Around 1.2 million people, or a quarter of India’s 4.6 million workforce is employed by the top 5 IT companies in India.

The vaccination drive has been arranged by Infosys Ltd., Wipro Ltd., and Tech Mahindra Ltd., for its employees and their family members on their campuses.

There also was news about TCS planning to provide Covid-19 vaccines to its employees and their family members through direct partnership with suppliers as per the recent government guidelines for vaccinating everyone above the age of 18 years beginning May 1.

Additionally, Infosys had also recently announced that it is opening a COVID Care Centre (CCC) in Bengaluru.
