Google Now Notifies You About Unreliable Search Results.

Google will now alert you if the search results are unreliable. According to Google, users should always receive relevant and reliable information from the search engine. It will now warn if the sources that show up in your search results are not trustworthy. This might happen when there is not enough information from reliable sources about the topic you search for.

As our current environment demands more timely, relevant, and reliable information, you might search for information on a developing issue on social media or ask a friend. While Google Search is always there to provide you with the most useful information, sometimes the information you’re looking for isn’t available.

Especially true for breaking news or emerging topics, information published first may not be the most reliable. “We’ve trained our systems to detect when a topic is rapidly evolving and a wide range of sources hasn’t yet weighed in. We’ll display a note suggesting that one might want to check back later when a wider range of sources is available,” Google added.

Some of the search results will now display a warning that says, “it looks like these results are changing quickly,” and Google will display a message below that says, “if this topic is new, it can sometimes take time for results to be added by reliable sources.”

According to Google’s evaluation process, the number of irrelevant search results has decreased by over 40 percent over the past five years. Google is sending billions of visitors to websites every day, and by providing highly relevant results, we have continued to grow the traffic we send to sites every year since our founding,” the company said.
