Haryana Dentist Thanks Apple CEO As Apple Watch Saves His Life

Apple to the rescue. Earlier this year, a dentist from Haryana named Nitesh Chopra (34) shared that the Apple Watch saved his life by providing prompt and accurate ECG readings. Chopra used his Apple Watch to take his ECG readings after feeling discomfort in his chest. The Apple Watch displayed the readings, and Chopra and his wife Neha Chopra rushed to the hospital, where a series of tests revealed that Chopra has a blocked artery.

Chopra has undergone treatment and has recovered since the incident. Chopra’s wife wrote a thank you note to Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, for creating a device that saved her husband’s life.

HT Tech reported Tim Cook replied to Chopra’s wife’s email and said, “I am very glad you sought a clinical evaluation and received the care you desired.”. Thankyou for sharing your story with us. Have a good day. Best wishes, Tim.”

discussionIn a conversation with the media house, Nitesh Chopra said, “I feel blessed. I can’t express my gratitude. Initially I also used Apple Watch as a fashion accessory and to check time and my step count and could not imagine that one day it will save my life.”

Apple Watches have also saved people’s lives in similar situations in the past. Here is how to check ECG (electrocardiogram) test on Apple Watch at home according to the official Apple website.

  1. Ensure that the ECG app is available in your country or region. Install and set up the app.
  2. Ensure that your Apple Watch is snug and on the wrist that you selected in the Apple Watch app. Open the Apple Watch app, tap My Watch, then go to General > Watch Orientation.
  3. Launch the ECG app on your Apple Watch.
  4. Place your arms on a table or on your lap.
  5. Hold your finger on the Digital Crown with the hand opposite your watch. During the session, you do not need to press the Digital Crown.
  6. Be patient. Recording takes 30 seconds. When you are done recording, you will receive a classification, then you can tap Add Symptoms and choose your symptoms.
  7. You can save any symptoms by tapping Save, then tap Done.
