How to create personalized WhatsApp stickers with the new sticker maker tool

WhatsApp released its sticker maker tool in its app recently. The tool is currently available only for WhatsApp Web and Desktop. Here’s how you can create custom stickers using the tool.

With WhatsApp’s web and desktop applications, you can now create custom stickers. This feature was previously only available in WhatsApp’s mobile apps. Everyone can now use WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Desktop’s custom sticker maker.

Back in 2018, WhatsApp launched stickers, which have since become one of the platform’s most popular features. According to Google, ‘how to send stickers on WhatsApp’ was the most searched ‘how to’ in India in 2018. You can download sticker packs from WhatsApp, and you can also create your own stickers. WhatsApp has a native sticker maker feature for the first time. For Android and iOS, you must use third-party apps to make custom stickers. Currently, only the WhatsApp Web and Desktop apps can create custom stickers.

Here’s a tutorial on how to create stickers on the WhatsApp Web and Desktop apps.

  • Launch WhatsApp on your laptop and open any chat.
  • Choose the sticker option by tapping on the attach icon in the chat bar.
  • From there, you’ll need to choose an image from your laptop or computer.
  • After you select an image, the sticker maker tool will open.
  • Afterwards, you can edit your sticker by adding emoji, text, doodles, etc.
  • When you’re done, tap the send button and your sticker will be sent.

Additionally, you can find the sticker maker tool in the chat bar by tapping the emoji button. In this case, tap on the sticker icon, click Create, and follow the same steps to create a custom sticker. This is an easier way to create custom stickers without having to download another app.

With the addition of features like voice and video calling, WhatsApp has been improving its web and desktop apps. Also recently, WhatsApp Web beta version was made available and the link previews were updated.
