Alchemist series reaches end of life
Intel has officially announced the end-of-life (EOL) status for several Arc Alchemist GPUs, including its flagship desktop models—the Arc A750 and A770—as part of a broader wind-down of the first-generation discrete GPU lineup.
- The Arc Alchemist series, launched in October 2022, will conclude well short of a full three-year market cycle.
- This announcement follows Intel’s Product Change Notifications (PCNs), now published on the company’s official site.
Specific phase-out timelines
According to the latest PCNs, the Arc A750 will cease order availability on June 27, 2025, with final shipments ending September 26, 2025. Alternate documentation lists June 30 and September 30 as the respective final dates, depending on distribution channels.
- The Arc A770, meanwhile, has a longer runway—orders can be placed until November 18, 2025, with the final shipment deadline set for May 20, 2026.
- These timelines offer a limited window for AIB partners to manage final bulk orders and inventory sell-through.
Mobile Arc GPUs also affected
In addition to desktop GPUs, Intel is discontinuing several mobile Alchemist models, including:
- A530M
- A350M
- A730M
- A770M
- A570M
- A370M
Only the Arc A380 and A580 remain active, although these too are expected to be retired soon given their limited market presence and Intel’s pivot toward next-gen offerings.
Legacy and future prospects
The Arc Alchemist lineup marked Intel’s first serious venture into the discrete GPU market, aiming to challenge NVIDIA and AMD in the mid-range segment. While these GPUs gained some traction among budget-conscious gamers, market adoption fell short of expectations.
- The Battlemage series, Intel’s follow-up to Alchemist, has already entered the scene, though it too has seen a lukewarm reception.
- Attention is now turning toward Intel’s Xe3-based Celestial GPUs, which promise a more competitive edge in future discrete GPU battles.
