Proton Mail Unveils Proton Scribe: The AI Writing Assistant for Effortless Email Composition

Writing emails can be a daily challenge, particularly when it comes to balancing tone and content. Proton Mail aims to streamline this process with its new feature, Proton Scribe. This virtual AI writing assistant is designed to make email composition quicker and more efficient, while ensuring your privacy remains intact.

Simplifying Email Writing with Proton Scribe

Proton Mail recognizes that crafting emails—especially business correspondence—can be both time-consuming and nuanced. To address these challenges, Proton Scribe has been integrated into the Proton Mail composer. This tool offers several functionalities to aid in writing and editing, including Proofread, Shorten, and Formalize modes.

  • Proofread and Shorten: These options help refine your emails by correcting grammar and tightening your text.
  • Formalize: This feature adjusts the tone of your message, making it more appropriate for formal communication.
  • Text Prompt: If you prefer to start from scratch, you can initiate an email with a simple text prompt.

Commitment to Privacy

Proton Mail emphasizes that Proton Scribe operates with a strong commitment to user privacy. The tool does not train on your inbox data due to Proton Mail’s zero-access encryption. It relies on open-source code and models, which are available for independent security and privacy audits. Proton Scribe ensures that your emails remain unlogged, preserving your privacy even when utilizing this feature.

Availability and Pricing

Proton Scribe is available for trial starting today. If you subscribe to Proton Mail Essentials, Mail Professional, or Proton Business Suite, you will have a 14-day trial period to experience the tool. After the trial, there is an additional fee of $3 per month to continue using Proton Scribe.
