Redmi K40 Teased, Rebranded Poco F3 Pro?

Redmi K40 teased officially, and this time the device’s design has been confirmed. Redmi K40 series is said to include a number of devices. The latest teaser revealed the entire back Redmi K40 which looks very similar to the recent Xiaomi flagship Mi 11. Recent leaks also revealed a Redmi K40S midrange model powered by Snapdragon 775 chip. Redmi K40 global availability is yet to be confirmed, but there are higher chances the devices will come to India under the Poco brand.

Previous rumours hinted that Redmi K40 devices may come as rebranded Poco phones globally as Poco F3 Pro for European markets.

Redmi K40 launch will happen on February 25. Latest Redmi K40 teaser confirms it will come with the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Redmi K40 will also come with the tiniest punch-hole on a smartphone ever. Other top Redmi K40 specs include a 120Hz LCD display, 108MP powered triple camera system and Android 11 OS. The Redmi K40 series will be unveiled on February 25 in China, and the phones are said to debut in India under the Poco brand.

Previously Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro received TENAA certification with the model numbers M2012K11AC and M2012K11C leaking out major details. Both the K40 phones will feature a centre-positioned punch-hole with a quad-camera module at the back.

Redmi K40 will come with the smallest punch-hole display on a smartphone ever, previously confirmed.

Redmi GM Lu Weibing previously said the company is aiming to offer the highest possible screen-to-body ratio and Redmi K40 display will have the smallest punch-hole cutout ever done on a smartphone yet. Vivo S5 currently has a punch-hole of 2.98 millimetres, claimed to be the smallest in the world, so Redmi K40 will even have a smaller one than Vivo S5.

All set to launch on February 25, the key specs and price have been already revealed.

Previously it was rumoured that Redmi will launch K40 with two of the models: Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 870, wherein Redmi K40 Pro will run on the top-end Snapdragon 888, while Redmi K40 will have the newer toned-down Snapdragon 870. But the latest teaser poster says otherwise. Redmi K40 will come with Snapdragon 888, and probably the Pro variant will also run on the same chip.

Redmi K40 India availability is yet to be confirmed, expected in the country as rebranded Poco handsets by March / April.

Redmi K40 Specs: Redmi K40 Pro In Line?
As per the TENAA listing, Redmi K40 phones will sport a 6.67-inch display, both running on Android 11 powered MIUI 12.5 OS out of the box with a 4,420mAh battery with fast-charging support. Both the phones will have 5G and 4G LTE connectivity. Redmi K40 and K40 Pro are said to measure 163.7 x 76.4 x 7.8 mm. That’s all from the TENAA listing at the moment.

Redmi K40 has been tipped to come with an Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone will pack at least 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Redmi K40 will feature the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, Quad HD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate and 256GB internal storage. The handset could arrive with a 108MP primary camera.

Redmi K40 price in China is teased to start at CNY 2,999 (around Rs 34,000). Redmi K40 launch will happen on February 25. Redmi K40 will initially be unveiled in China, as the company confirmed. Redmi K40 India availability is yet to be confirmed, expected by March / April.
