WWDC 2026: Apple adds menopause features to cycle tracking

Apple is expanding its focus on women’s health by adding perimenopause and menopause support to the cycle-tracking tools in its Health app.

The new capabilities were announced Monday during WWDC 2026.

Apple first introduced cycle tracking on the Apple Watch and iOS in 2019, allowing users to record information related to menstruation and fertility.

New notifications and symptom tracking

According to Stacey Ford, Apple’s vice president of OS Product Management, users will receive notifications when their cycle patterns suggest they may be entering perimenopause.

The update also allows users to:

  • Log symptoms.
  • Track changes over time.
  • Access educational information.

Ford said the goal is to help users better understand what is happening with their bodies and prepare for conversations with healthcare professionals.

“So you can understand more about what’s going on with your body and be better prepared to talk to your doctor,” she said.

Growing interest in menopause care

The addition comes as awareness of perimenopause and menopause has grown across social media and television.

The market for menopause-related health services has also expanded.

Research published in the journal Menopause estimated that 1.1 billion women worldwide were postmenopausal as of last year.

Investment in digital health companies targeting the sector has accelerated.

In February, Midi Health, which specializes in perimenopause and menopause care, raised $100 million in a Series D funding round led by Goodwater Capital.

The financing valued the company at $1 billion.

TL;DR:

Apple has added perimenopause and menopause support to its Health app. Users can log symptoms, access educational information and receive notifications when cycle patterns indicate possible perimenopause.
