Great News For Air Passengers! IndiGo To Now Deliver Baggage Door To Door

The largest domestic airline in India, IndiGo has recently announced a new service that will allow effective and secure picking up and dropping of customer luggage from the first destination to the last destination. The door-to-door baggage transfer service will also include tracking of the baggage. The facility is known as ‘6EBagport’. IndiGo has now launched the service in Delhi and Hyderabad. The airline has also said in a press release that it will subsequently launch the service in Mumbai and Bengaluru too, in partnership with CarterPorter. Read on to know more.

The Facility Incorporates A Service Insurance Of ₹5,000/Baggage
IndiGo has launched the 6EBagport door-to-door baggage transfer service in Delhi and Hyderabad to facilitate secure and effective baggage pickup and transfer from the first to the last destination. The service commenced on April 1, 2021. Reportedly, it also incorporates a service insurance of ₹5,000 per baggage item for the contents and container. The service starts at ₹630 for one way. Travellers can book the service from the comfort of their homes up to 24 hours before the departure of the flight and anytime on arrival.


The Passengers Will Have To Fill Up Forms For Baggage Transfer
According to a Deccan Herald report, IndiGo has mentioned, “The ‘6EBagPort’ service can be availed up to 24 hours prior to the departure of the flight and anytime on arrival.” In the Departure form, passengers need to select from two options, One Way or Round Trip, and provide details like city, airport, date, PNR number, name, e-mail and phone number. The Arrival form is also similar. The Indigo website states, “Complete address with pincode will be taken at least 24 hours before date of service. Booking address can be different for each booking as long as they are in the same city of departure/arrival. Address should be in the urban city of departure/arrival.”

It adds, “Up to 2 bags allowed per booking for CarterX Service. For departure bookings, excess weight and additional bag charges are as per airline mandate.”
