Planning A Visit To Hill Station? Checkout New Govt Rules For Coorg, Munnar, Ladakh, Sikkim & Other Hill Stations!

Covid-19 induced pandemic got under the skin of all of us. Every one of us is finding our reason and excuses to head out and live life with freedom. But the day has not become as bright as of now. The virus is still lurking around and giving governments all over the world a ride while dealing with it. And, hence even though the second wave of the pandemic seems to have receded, the governments are not ready to give a free run to their citizens.

So, if you are thinking about heading out and spending days following tourists destinations, we bring you the entry rules which are there in place.

1. Nilgiris, Tamilnadu

The hills of Nilgiris keep on calling to people who are not very fond of heat. But dear tourists, keep in mind, the mountains are not opening up to you with open arms. At least as of now. If you are visiting the Nilgiris from Karnataka and Kerala, an e-pass will suffice for you. But if you are entering from Maharashtra, you will need to carry a negative RT-PCR test report.

2. Coorg, Karnataka

While many districts in Karnataka are opening up, the community in which Coorg is is still under lockdown. You will have to wait till July 19. But the wait for Coorg will only make your visit sweeter when you visit it, won’t it?

3. Munnar, Kerala

God’s own country, Kerala. If you want to enter the state, you will need to complete two simple formalities. One, get an e-pass and have a negative RT-PCR test report issued not before 2 hours before entering the state. Simple, Aint it? Look at it as an offering we offer when we visit our Gods at Temples. :P

4. Mahabaleshwar & Panchgani, Maharashtra

If you visit these beautiful places in Sahyadri just for a day, no one will bother you. But if you intend to stay here for more than a day, all the hotels, homestays, resorts will ask for a negative RT—PCR test report issued within the last 72 hours. The government has issued such an SOP to all stakeholders in the ecosystem.

5. Sikkim

If you are fully vaccinated, no one can stop you from entering Sikkim. The hotels, guesthouses, and homestays over here are operating at 50% capacity. Shopping malls, Showrooms are allowed to use at total capacity only after adhering to strict covid-19 protocols.

6. Uttarakhand

You can travel to the state with registration on the intelligent city portal. You must carry a negative RT-PCR test. Still, keep in mind that the lockdown in the state is extended till July 13. Malls are operating at 50% capacity.

7. Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh might be the only state in the country without any barriers. It is welcoming the tourists with wide-open arms. No negative RT-PCR test. No E-Pass. They seem like holding, warm-hearted people, after all.

8. Ladakh

A negative RT-PCR test must be taken not more than 96 hours before arrival in Leh or Kargil. A Rapid Antigen Test is also required after arrival in Leh.

9. Jammu and Kashmir

If you are flying to J&K, you will need, negative RT-PCR test. Restaurants and bars in the state are also open to wholly vaccinated people or have negative RT-PCR tests taken not 48 hours before. Furthermore, various districts are also under weekend lockdown. In contrast, there is a statewide night curfew from 8 pm to 7 am every day.
