Ramadan is celebrated with pomp and galore across the UAE every year. However, keeping the current situation in mind, cities across the UAE are now announcing updates to curb the spread of the virus. It means that Ramadan this year is going to be more mellow. After Dubai, Sharjah has now announced rules for celebrating Ramadan this year. The local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in Sharjah has announced a set of precautionary measures which need to be adhered to during the holy month.
Advertising Iftar Meals, Distributing Meals To The Needy Won’t Be Allowed This Year
As per the new updates, family or institutional Iftar tents are prohibited this year. Public gathering for Iftar banquets, offering or distributing of Iftar meals in front of restaurants, homes, mosques or any other gathering points is also banned, keeping the current situation in mind. Additional, the authorities have also announced that advertising announcing Iftar special offers will not be allowed. And the distribution of meals to needy people through charitable organisations will also be limited in the emirate.

Sharjah Authorities Will Monitor The Situation During The Holy Month Of Ramadan
Reports in the Emirates News Agency (WAM) states that field teams will be formed from concerned authorities to intensify their inspection and monitoring campaigns during the holy month of Ramadan. These announcements in Sharjah come just a week after Dubai announced the decision to cancel all Ramadan tent permits in the city. Dubai also announced that the current restrictions and precautionary measures in place will be extended until the start of Ramadan, which is till April.
Well, besides this, the yearly Yoga Fest, which was supposed to commence in March, has now been postponed to November amid the rise in the covid-19 cases. We hope that we get rid of this virus soon.
